Happy Independence Day!Not only do we celebrate your independence from Spain today, we also celebrate and commemorate your 11 year fight for freedom. Today we celebrate the moment you found the audacity to stand up to your captors and cry, “ENOUGH”! Your story reminds us to never forget what the struggle was like, urges us to keep going in the face of frightening adversity and compels us to never give up!
Living in your beautiful country has taught me so much about myself, life and ironically gave me a deeper appreciation for my family and friends in my own country. This year I promise to explore more of you, perfect my Spanish even more and to continue to give back in whatever community I find myself in.
