Hotel Monaco, a Funky Kimpton Hotel in Washington D.C.

I found this hotel on a whim just browsing Hotwire.com for a cool place to stay with my sister in D.C. for a night. It is normally 200+ a night, but thanks to Hotwire, we were able to stay there for half the price!

Upon booking, I thought this would be my first experience with the IHG (Intercontinental Hotels Group) brand. However I did a keyword search in my email and found out that I am a Gold Elite Member, which didn't necessarily entitle me to a free room upgrade, but you know I tried anyway right?

Unfortunately, my plan did not work:/

BUT we were only at the hotel for about 8 hours until we had to rush to the airport, so I wasn't too mad. Hopefully, I have the opportunity to tour the upgraded rooms when I go back to D.C.

The Hotel Monaco D.C. also features a bar/ restaurant called "the Dirty Habit" I didn't have the chance to check this place out, because my time there was so short, but the reviews are outstanding!

This historic building has been around for almost 200 years and was once home to the General Post Office in DC. It has since been renovated to a 183 room hotel now known as the Hotel Monaco. Check out my review of the hotel below:)

The Hotel Monaco in D.C. is a hotel that I would absolutely visit again. Just about everything you can think of is a short walk away from the hotel. It is centrally located across the street from the National Portrait Gallery, Capital One Arena, the Gallery Place Metro stop, and plenty of great restaurants and bars.
