Helping Our Sisters Pursue Excellence in Detroit, Michigan

Updated: Mar 21, 2018

If you have been struggling to find your purpose, letting your past mistakes hold you back, or just looking for some inspiration, the H.OP.E. Women's Conference at the Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit is the place you need to be this Sunday!

The H.O.P.E Conference is being put on by Aisha Dogette and Yvonne Wilson and will run from 11am to 3pm at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History. When I asked Aisha what the goal of this event was she said,"I want the women that attend to feel like they have the power to do whatever God has told them to do. So many times we feel so much guilt and condemnation from the church or even our loved ones and I am hoping that women will leave our conference with a renewed vision of themselves and who they are in Christ."

Many times young women, especially those raised in the church, do not feel like the church is that safe space where they can share their struggles, seek forgiveness and move forward. By sharing our own personal stories of tragedy and heartbreak, it is our hope that those attending will realize that they aren't alone in their struggles; there is forgiveness and a way out.

In addition to sharing their own personal stories, their workshop/speaker list includes singer, songwriter Jill Govan who will speak about using your talents for Christ; domestic abuse survivor and now advocate and counselor, Kelly Mays, Shelly Govan and Emily Schott.

The H.O.P.E Conference will be held on Sunday, March 23rd from 11am to 3pm at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History. Tickets to this event are FREE, but you must be registered to attend. Click here to Register online.
